Do and Don'ts of Eyebrow Threading

Do research your technician
Go to a skilled and hygienic threading specialist. Experience and cleanliness are key to avoiding infections and uneven brows.
Do communicate your preferences clearly
Tell the technician your desired shape, thickness, and arch before they begin. Bring a reference photo if needed.
Do exfoliate beforehand (gently)
Light exfoliation a day before helps remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs. Avoid doing this on the day of threading to reduce sensitivity.
Do keep skin clean and makeup-free
Arrive with a clean face, especially without makeup around your brows, to reduce the risk of irritation or breakouts.
Do soothe skin post-threading
Use aloe vera gel, rose water, or a cooling cream to calm redness and inflammation.
Do avoid sun exposure post-treatment
Your skin is more sensitive after threading. Use SPF or avoid direct sunlight for at least 24 hours.
Do schedule threading regularly
Getting your brows done every 3–4 weeks maintains shape and keeps growth manageable.

Don’t thread right before a big event
Redness or slight swelling can occur. Give at least 24–48 hours for skin to calm down.
Don’t use harsh skincare right after
Avoid retinoids, acids (like glycolic or salicylic), or exfoliants for 24–48 hours post-threading.
Don’t touch the area repeatedly
Your hands can transfer bacteria, potentially causing breakouts or infection.
Don’t wax or tweeze in between sessions
Let your technician see the full growth so they can shape properly. DIY plucking can distort the shape.
Don’t thread over broken, irritated, or sunburned skin
This can worsen inflammation and lead to scarring or infection.
Don’t apply makeup immediately after
Give the area time to breathe—wait a few hours to a full day to apply makeup over threaded skin.
